Which Type of Reiki?
There are now many types or styles of Reiki, some say they are the original Reiki as more information comes to the west - others say that their system is stronger systems. Different Reiki healing systems can provide different things, such as Gold Reiki being useful for mental and emotional problems. Kundalini Reiki can be good for blockages or ‘quick blasts’ of the energy.
I am attuned to the following systems to Reiki Master Level: Usui Reiki, Teate Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Gold Reiki, Psychic Reiki, Karuna Ki and Tera Mai Reiki & Seichem Level II.
My interest in the different systems comes mainly from my own self-healing perspective and also the experience of learning from different teachers who have different approaches. I have my own personal preferences with the systems, it just depends where we’re at.
I feel that what is more important is that we pay attention to what we feel drawn to as that is right for us at that time. It is also important that you feel relaxed and comfortable with the teacher.

Reiki is what we want it to be: it is a mirror. It can be as simple or complicated as we make it. In teaching Reiki, I include a basic structured approach but foremost is the focus on the development of an intuitive approach as this can aid self-development and personal growth.
Some people wish to be attuned to Reiki because they would like to become a Reiki Practitioner. Other people benefit from having an attunement to Reiki in order to be able to channel the energy for their own Self-Healing. What is an Attunement?
An attunement is an influx of energy which allows us to then use that specific energy for ourselves or others. An attunement enables us to start a process of becoming ‘in tune’ or in harmony with that energy - the ultimate experience of Reiki is ‘to be’ the Reiki energy, to become it, to emanate it as we are.
An attunement can be likened to someone helping you to tune the radio or TV to a new station which has just come on air, so that you can access that ‘new station’. You may already be receiving the radio station yourself, clearly or maybe slightly fuzzily. An attunement isn’t necessary for everyone to channel healing energy - although for some it may enhance and strengthen it. Some people are confident and able to receive attunements, or influxes of energy, directly from source - as Usui did - and do not require another person to facilitate the receipt of them; they can happen very naturally. I use a combination of approaches when teaching Reiki, so that you have the benefit of experiencing these processes in a variety of ways.
One week before Reiki Level 1 attunement you will be taught a series of exercises in preparation for your attunement, including grounding and Connective Therapy. You will be expected to practise these every day. You will be shown how to find your basic energy flow which will help you to begin to tune into channelling energy. This session takes 2-3 hours.
Level 1 is from 9.30 -5pm approx and lasts 1 day – unless extra time is needed by the student. On this day you will receive 4 attunements to Reiki plus an additional attunement to the Silver Violet Flame. You will hear about the history of Reiki, and the Reiki principles. You will be shown how to channel Reiki for self-healing, which you will be expected to practise daily for the next 3 weeks (and ideally every day for the rest of your life) plus keep a journal of your experiences. You will learn about the chakras and how to channel the Reiki energy for friends and family and your pets and shown the Reiki hand positions plus the intuitive approach to channelling Reiki.
3 weeks after your attunement we will meet up again, have a chat to discuss how you have got on and you will receive your certificate. You will also be invited to attend Reiki Shares.

Pre-requisites - Usui Reiki Level I plus a basic knowledge and understanding of the chakras.
At Reiki Level II you will learn about distance healing, including healing lists and sending healing to the past and future. You will also learn about the Reiki symbols. You will receive further attunements to strengthen and widen your energy channels, to increase the amount of energy that you can channel. You will be taught more about the chakras, and also about treatment forms and insurance. You will be shown how to do a house cleanse.
You will be expected to complete case studies including 3 full healing sessions with 2 clients, 3 distance healing sessions with 1 client, 1 house cleanse in person and 1 distant house cleanse. You will also be expected to self treat for the next 3 weeks (at least) and fill in a journal of your experiences.
3 weeks after your attunement we will meet up again, have a chat to discuss how you have got on and you will receive your certificate. You will also be invited to attend Reiki Shares.

Reiki Shares
Reiki shares are where a group of people attuned to Reiki get together and share the Reiki healing. This is an opportunity to receive regular Reiki, to send group distance healing to others and to further your knowledge, understanding and your experience of Reiki. Once you are attuned to Reiki, you are invited to participate in the monthly Reiki Share. There is no charge for this. We meet the last Monday of every month at 7pm.
Reiki shares are where a group of people attuned to Reiki get together and share the Reiki healing.
